“The pace here is slow and although there is a bit more bustle in town during the summer months, a holiday here still very much feels like holidays enjoyed with family decades ago.”
— Georgie Selman
After falling in love with what was a run-down weatherboard cottage in the coastal village of Port Campbell, Georgie and Richard Selman bought what is now Port Cottage in 2020. The dilapidated garage was rebuilt and the although the floorplan was kept as it was, the cottage was renovated to ensure it could withstand many more decades in the harsh environment the Shipwreck Coast is famous for.
Port Cottage was opened to guests in December 2022. If luck is on their side, the Selman Family plan to open bookings for Port Farm in September 2024.
We respectfully acknowledge Port Cottage and Port Farm is on land belonging to the Kirrae Whurrong people of the Maar Nation.
Meerreengeeye which means ‘Our Country’ in Maar language includes land and waters, plants and animals, stories and spirits and citizens. Maar citizens have always had a close connection with the sea and its resources and their connection with Sea Country extends well beyond the current shoreline to the edge of the continental shelf.
